We ate at the Olive Branch twice during our visit to Waco. It was a great, casual place to have breakfast and do some reading. The coffee was great and the food was too. We had the croissant sandwich and the byo hash. Both were very good.
Self serve coffee..pretty overpriced breakfast..will not make eggs how you like, only get the choice to scramble them. Cool atmosphere but wouldn't go back again.
I'm forever seeking a good salad. So, I found the Olive Branch website and was able to pick out what I wanted ahead of time from their online menu. I was NOT disappointed. I walked in and ordered the Salad Trio to-go, which consisted of a Caesar salad, with a scoop of light and finely chopped chicken salad in the middle of it, and a fresh fruit salad cup. The dressing was very thin, but it really did the job and made it a very light salad. To my surprise, they also threw in a chocolate chip cupcake! I really enjoyed it and I'm definitely going back! I didn't dine-in, but the counter staff was very friendly and courteous... and c'mon they threw in that free cupcake! Great first impression!
Lunch was very disappointing! BLT bread crumbled and was inedible, potato soup was extra thick and floury, the 3 egg omlet was barely 1 egg, and the chicken noodle soup was so salty it burned to eat it. This was by far our biggest disappointment in Waco. Stay away!
So my wife and I came in at lunch and they were slammed. We quickly grabbed a table that was being cleaned. So no wait for us. They are definitely short staffed but I will easily forgive that considering they had a sign that said now hiring and now hiring on the receipt. Chicken pesto sandwich was fantastic our drinks were refilled promptly. No issues other than it's a busy hot spot in Waco. Nice work! Once fully staffed this place will be even more awesome.
