I've only been to a few B&B's but what I've found that what really makes for a memorable experience is the hospitality and personalities of the hosts. Dan & Vivian delivered on the promise of two spectacular three course gourmet breakfasts and were extremely friendly, personable and helpful. We spent two nights in the Emerald Room and enjoyed our stay. The room was on the second floor of the house but remained very cool and comfortable. Cooling was provided by a window AC unit which was nice since we could control the temperature ourselves. The bathroom was neat and clean. The only negative that comes to mind was the tub bottom was severely worn and was covered with a temporary bath mat. Dan did tell us that he is planning on resurfacing the tub. The main purpose of our visit to Waco was to enjoy biking in Cameron Park and our hosts were more than accommodating when it came to helping us get ready for our daily rides.
As natural born Texans, we strove to seek out a "smaller town" feel for a weekend road trip. And despite staying with Dan and Vivian for only one night for our tour of Waco, we were absolutely blown away by the decor and their hospitality. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was breathtaking. They also have great suggestions on how and what to explore in the local area.
My Mom and I stayed at The Spencer House B and B last weekend for our Mother/Daughter trip. The house was absolutely stunning. My mom and I had never been to Waco before and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The Magnolia at the Silos was our main destination; however, we enjoyed much more there. I am a regular B&B hopper and I would highly recommend The Spencer House B&B!
