One of the greatest local parks for mountain biking! Trails range from beginners to experts so be careful where you go and look out for black trails as they are difficult. You wont go wrong riding your bike here.
In short, check a map before you go to scout a spot that matches your expectations (playground? picnic tables? biking or hiking trails? public bathroom? wedding venue?). If you plan well, Cameron Park has it all.
Very beautiful. There are lots of trails, and a beautiful bamboo forest.
My 9 month old twins nap best in the car, and on days when I need a nap more than I need a car that will last longer than five years, we drive through Cameron Park for the 60-90 minutes that they sleep. It's beautiful, with winding roads, gorgeous old trees, and water views.
When just the adults get out of the house, we love hiking the trails around the park and climbing Jacob's Ladder. I'm excited for the days when our children are old enough to climb-- I think that by the time we reach the top and play a bit at the playground at Anniversary Park, the reluctant napping will be a non-issue...
Total fun on a hot or cool Texas day! Bike trails and kayaking are a plus! I believe it is in the Top 3 largest and/or busiest parks in the nation. Total fun for everyone, this park's rejuvenation began with its addition of disc golf. It has 2 Top A Tier disc golf courses, walkways and parks that are sure to satisfy any enthusiast. There are 11 parks and a zoo residing inside of William Cameron Park.
When my children are awake, they love to play in the thick, soft grass at Pecan Bottom, or to look at the flowers as we take the stroller through Miss Nellie's Pretty Place trails.
An absolutely beautiful natural Wonderland. Multiple Lookouts from The Cliffs over the Brazos & Bosque Rivers. Extensive Trails for mountain biking and hiking. Very clean Public restrooms with maps at each stop. Beautiful modern play areas for children. A true Photographers Paradise. Whether you want to tear up the trails with the mountain bike or just sit back and relax and take in The View, this park has something for everybody. And if your legs are in good shape check out Jacob's Ladder and climb one of the cliffs. Beautiful canopy tree covered access roads, and active and visible security. If you visit the Waco area and do not stop here you missed out on something very special. The park is directly next to the Cameron Park Zoo which is another beautiful stop. Nature lovers this is a park you do not want to miss.
There are many beautiful plants, wildlife, and the suspension bridge is gorgeous at night. It is a great place to bring people of all ages.
Strap in, this is a long one. I grew up obsessed with Cameron Park, repeating the rumor (I can't find substantiation online, but I haven't looked hard at all either) that it's the second largest city-owned park (coming in after only Central Park). Regardless of the truth of that rumor, it's one of the best parks in Texas, and it offers something for people of all ages.
