Being near Waco, we decided to take a day trip to see the town. We parked at the Silos and we're met with big crowds and long lines. Instead of waiting in the sin with two.kids we went for a walk. We walked past the Hippodrome Theater and discovered there was a restaurant inside!
We were blown away. This cute restaurant, themed with hippos, wasn't crowded and had immediate seating. I got the special, meatloaf, drink, two sides, and dessert for $9! My wife got the pulled pork tacos and was delighted with them (she's a bit of a taco snob). Our waitress Jennifer was sweet and very helpful. If your in Waco, definitely check this place out.
A local recommended this place to us and we were pleasantly surprised! WONDERFUL food and a very nostalgic atmosphere. Great service and our food was delivered quickly. Really enjoyed our lunch!
The atmosphere of this place is just so cool and fun. It really feels like a movie 'experience' whenever I go to the Hippodrome(which has been quite often). The food is a little on the pricey side, but it is really good and the ticket prices are really cheap. Every time friends or family come to Waco, the Hippodrome is always a must-stop visit

By far the classiest theater in Waco. This theater is almost 100 years old and the classic architecture has been preserved over the years. The movie theater portion of the theater has great seating and has food and drink on par with an Alamo Drafthouse. The dining room also has the quality of food you would expect from the upscale appearance. Don't let the fancy decor scare you away, most people dress casually. The staff are really friendly and have quick service. I've worked with them when hosting events at the theater and they're always exceptionally professional and helpful. One of the best venues in town.
