Great BBQ PLACE. Normally they are not open on Thursday eve, but they did just for our tour group. The owner came out and visited with us telling how she came to own the business. Interesting. By the way, this is one of Chip Gaines favorite places
Vitek's is our first stop every time we come to Waco. The sliced brisket melts. Very nice outdoor seating area. Staff are polite and friendly when taking orders. Easy access off 35 and large parking lot. Bathrooms are clean. They have tons of TVs if you like to watch sports with your BBQ. Highly recommended!
This place is featured in many of the must visit lists of Waco and rightfully so. I stopped by too. The full plate of Gut pack is easily enough for two meals of an adult. It is made of shredded beef and beans soaked in BBQ sauce and laid on a bed of Fritos and cheese and served with sausages, jalapeno peppers, pickles and bread. Sumptuous and delicious. The parking is inadequate. There is ample seating inside, but they serve food in to go boxes, so it's great for a takeaway too.
I had the BBQ plate with sliced brisket, jalapeno sausage, beans, and 3 cheese macaroni. The brisket was tender and flavorful, but a little on the dry side. A few drops of BBQ sauce fixed that. The sausage had a little spice to it and was also a little dry. the mac and cheese was outstanding! I'm kind of picky about mac and cheese and i loved it. Hope to go there again when i'm in town. i want to try the Gut Pack!
