My husband and I went to this pain clinic (I am the pt). I could not hear Dr freiberger, he mumbled and never looked at me, just his laptop. My husband told me what he said so I could ans. The very first visit I was told that "I would need injections in my spinal area, then move to burning the nerve endings in each vertabrea", where I have stenosis of the lower spine and vertabrea is crumbling due to RA. I said "hum ok". He faxed in med. Then we went home investigated the proceedure and decided no I didnt want anyone in my back around that area. We went into the office a day later to cancel, was brow beatten by the booking girl. She finally said "ok". Next visit we saw dr again he was not happy that I cancelled the injections. I said "I am diabetic and I dont want to have injs." He was not happy but faxed my med in. Next visit we were seen by an RN sheri, she offered several other meds in addition to the pain med. I refused, she pushed inj in spine. The next visit we waited for a 3:00 visit till 5:30 appx. Because of a down computer system. Was asked to "let dr put inj in spine." I asked "what about my knees, wrists, hips, ankles as I have RA and bones are crumbling?" No ans. Med called in. Next and last visit we were seen by RN, she stated "ok, dr cannot continue to just, give you pills without inj, the state will get upset as they set the clinics guidelines". She left the room, came back and said "ok what are you going to do?" I said "I guess I need to be weened off of the pill, I will not have anyone messing around my stenosis untill surgery decission is made". I said "not sure my pc dr would agree to it either." She said "oh I ride bikes with alfedo your dr I know him". She said "ok, i will call in enough meds and a ween off sheet." I have been on medication for abit, I remember the severe pain I had and was using a walker and wheelchair most days, at this time walking with a cane. (fear is a light word for what I felt) I was so confused on what was happening so fast, we left. The next day the meds were never called in, so after work my husband went to speak to dr in office. Dr would not speak to him, but a lady named tammy talked with him. She read my file of last 2 visits to him. The rn put "pt says meds dont work." He was with me every visit and stated "no my wife never said that". She said nothing then went to dr and he sent out a paper perscription to ween off. (we were told by rn that "state would not let them write paper perscriptions anymore electronic only")? But tammy handed my husband a paper perscription to take to pharmacy, then she took it back to dr to add quanity of pills that he forgot to put on perscription. I find myself confused, scared, and dreading this ween off thing. Im not sure if I will be able to take this pain. No compassion at this clinic site. Seems like this injection in spine is the only proceedure this clinic will do. I was on 1 pill three xs aday, not wanting to be drugged, poked at. Gods will be done. Pray for me that I dont suffer too much.
