They over charge and do not cut good! I had my cousin go because they advertise how good they can cut and treat curly hair! We payed $44 for a senior cut which they left it uneven! Please be careful when get your hair cut here!!!
"I was hired about 6 weeks ago by Maria Moreno, owner of 'The Mane Event' in Waco, TX.
They were mad because they were still working on building up their clientele.
I had to send a letter of Certification from Springfield.
I had gotten all dressed up and all of my equipment in the back of my truck.
This whole incident was handled so unprofessionally!
Wonderful staff and wonderful lay out of the salon.
I was supposed to be starting yesterday, September 22, 2017.
I could not start right away because I did not have my Texas cosmetology license yet.
Maria took me in back and told me she could not hire me because three of the other hair stylist in the salon threatened to walk out.
They had been complaining they were too slow to hire another hair stylist.
The Mane Event is really nice, and the staff I've met has been so friendly. I lived in Waco for about 2 years, and went there to get my haircut once by Anitra. She did a fantastic job, gave me exactly what I asked for in my picture reference. I have moved to Dallas since then, and I needed to get my hair done. Rather than try a new place here, I made the drive back to Waco and got Anitra again! Best haircut I've ever gotten, and they only cost $43. She also teaches you a lot about how to care for your hair at home (realistically). Highly recommend, I will definitely be going there for all my future haircuts!
Once Austin received all the paperwork and payment, they sent me my Texas Cosmetology license.
So you are letting your employees make your decisions for you? Who's the boss, them, or you?
I do not recommend anyone to work here or to go here for hair services!"
As the paperwork made its way through the channels, I kept in touch with Maria, to keep her in the loop and up to date on when I can start.
Had I known this, I could have been searching for a new job these last 6 weeks!!!
They sent the letter to Austin, TX.
The other hair stylists did not know about me being hired until this morning.

Just had a great experience here. Marie L. was my stylist and she worked a miracle on my hair. She really listened to what I wanted and it turned out great. All of the staff seemed happy. They were very friendly and helpful. Great job.
